After a record setting vote of nearly 100 million, Kris Allen was named the 2009 American Idol. Allen, from Conway, AR, was almost speechless. He appeared to be in shock that he beat out Adam Lambert, widely thought to be the shoe-in.Allen proved to be the more well-rounded performer, playing the guitar and piano as well as singing. His boyish good looks certainly did not hamper his progress in the competition. Fans also seemed to be attracted to his humble, quiet demeanor. He never talked back to the judges even in the face of sometimes harsh criticism.
Kris, if you read the blogs, and come across this one, embrace your win! You worked hard to earn it and the fans voted for you because you deserve it. It seems as though you were sure Adam was going to win. The fans have lots of love for him, too but it does not detract from your talent and performance abilities. America voted and you are the 2009 American Idol. Enjoy the position and all that comes with it. NO BOUNDARIES!!!
