Buffalo, NY Plane Crash Kills 49

At approximately 10:10 p.m., Continental Flight 3407 crashed in Clarence Center, a suburb near Buffalo. The plane had left Newark, new Jersey and was set to land in Buffalo. Instead, it hit a home as it went down and burst into searing, high-reaching flames on Thursday night. An information hotline has been set up for relatives of passengers on that flight. The toll-free number is 1-800-621-3263.

According to the FAA, 48 people were on board the jetliner. The 44 passengers and four crew members were killed along with one person on the ground.

Well, they were real. Salt Lake City, Utah's Lee Redmond once boasted having the longest fingernails in the world and was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. However, a car accident on Feb. 10, 2009, caused the nails to break. Before the accident, the nails measured nearly 30 inches. Luckily, her injuries were not life threatening.
